Deacons Department
The Deacons Department of Christ Our Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church is dedicated to serving God’s house with humility, diligence, and commitment. Inspired by the example in Acts 6, deacons provide vital support to the ministry of the church, ensuring that worship and church activities are carried out in an orderly and reverent manner.
Their work goes beyond logistics—they serve as spiritual and practical caretakers of the congregation, ensuring that the sanctuary and all church programs run smoothly.
Core Responsibilities:
Tithes & Offerings: Assisting in the reverent collection and safekeeping of tithes, offerings, and other contributions.
Church Maintenance: Helping to keep the sanctuary, furnishings, and grounds clean, orderly, and welcoming.
Assisting with Ceremonies: Supporting services such as baptisms, baby dedications, communion, funerals, and other church events.
Ushers & Hospitality: Welcoming members and visitors, guiding them during services, and maintaining order within the sanctuary.
Safety & Security: Helping safeguard the church premises and ensuring the comfort of worshippers.
Visitation & Care: Assisting the sick, elderly, and those in need through prayer, visitation, and acts of service.
The ministry of deacons reflects 1 Corinthians 14:40: “Let all things be done decently and in order.” Through their dedication, the deacons uphold the sacredness of worship and create an environment where God’s presence is honored.
