Chaplaincy Department
The Chaplaincy Department of Christ Our Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church is dedicated to providing spiritual care, guidance, and support to members of the church and the wider community. Chaplaincy extends the ministry of the church beyond the walls of the sanctuary, bringing hope and encouragement to people in schools, hospitals, workplaces, prisons, and other institutions.
Chaplains serve as representatives of Christ’s compassion, offering prayer, counseling, and a listening ear to those in need. They play an important role in nurturing faith, promoting healing, and strengthening individuals and families during both joyful and challenging seasons of life.
Core Responsibilities:
Spiritual Care: Offering prayer, counseling, and encouragement to members facing life’s challenges.
Institutional Ministry: Reaching out to schools, hospitals, workplaces, and correctional centers with spiritual support.
Counseling & Guidance: Providing biblically grounded advice and comfort to individuals and families.
Special Programs: Leading devotionals, organizing prayer sessions, and providing spiritual direction at church and community events.
Crisis Ministry: Offering immediate support in times of grief, illness, or crisis situations.
The department follows the example of Jesus in Matthew 25:36: “I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” By serving in diverse settings, Chaplaincy ensures that the love of Christ is present wherever people are in need.
